Jamor Race Walk and Running Center

 

The Programa Nacional de Marcha e Corrida (National Race Walk and Running Program) is a joint initiative of the Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude, I.P. (Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth), the Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo (FPA) (Portuguese Athletics Federation) and the Faculdade de Desporto da Universidade do Porto (Faculty of Sport from University of Porto), aiming to promote the practice of race walk and running with a strong concern in the implementation of healthier lifestyles.

In this context, the Centro Desportivo Nacional do Jamor (CDNJ) (Jamor National Sports Center) inaugurated in 2011 the Centro de Marcha e Corrida do Jamor (Jamor Race Walk and Running Center) with the objective of providing support to all those interested in practicing these activities, from those who start it now, to those who regularly practice it, but in a non-oriented way and that want to be advised in order to get more out of their workout.

In 2021, the center was renamed Centro de Marcha e Corrida do Jamor – Professor Pedro Rocha (in honor of the coordinator of the National Walking and Running Program, who died in late 2020.

The Centro de Marcha e Corrida do Jamor – Professor Pedro Rocha offers its practitioners a technical environment, made up of technicians with a high level of experience and with specific technical training that guarantees a qualified intervention.

Oriented training sessions are developed, with the following schedules and their respective locations:

The availability of the athletics track in the National Stadiumis always conditioned to the performance of games and other events that take place there.

Check the CDNJ Facebook page to see if there are any games or events that can cause the unavailability of the track at a certain date.
